In September 2003 the Federal Do Not Call list system was introduced in the U.S. making it an offense to call someone who has registered with these lists. Fines of up to $11,000 can be imposed. Up to now GoldMine users typically had to export lists and send them to a bureau for checking, or download the DNC lists (both federal and state) and run some sort of checking software. This took time and was expensive.
