Simple and powerful de-duplication for GoldMine

In almost any CRM system, duplicate records can arise, as a result of normal use or when importing new data records. It is always best to try to avoid these being created in the first place, but it is a rare database which has no duplicates.

GoldMine has built in methods to help remove duplicates, in particular the merge/purge wizard. But this is a dangerous option and is poor at finding duplicates which only match in incomplete ways.

QGate have developed a sophisticated data matching engine called ‘Paribus’ which can be used with almost any type of database to identify duplicates. Connecting this to GoldMine SQL databases is fairly simple but applying the corrections/merges identified is less easy. Paribus supports a plugin architecture and in partnership with QGate Solica has developed a special plugin specifically for GoldMine which supports two types of operation:

• Importing duplicate flags. Lets you import unique identifiers for duplicate records back into GoldMine following which they can be reviewed and merged within GoldMine, typically using the merge/purge wizard
• A complete merge purge operation which actually applies the merge to the GoldMine database.
